  • Herman Edwards was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1989 to 2008, finishing his career as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Over his twenty years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 171-148-1. During his career he was a head coach for eight seasons, first with the New York Jets. He led the Jets for five seasons, compiling a record of 39-41-0. He was fired from the Jets. His next head coaching stint was with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2006 to 2008, as he led the team to a 15-33-0 record. He was fired from the Chiefs on Friday, January 23, 2009. During his entire head coaching career, his two teams combined for a record of 54-74-0 across eight seasons including going 2-4-0
